Covenant of mayors for climate and energy is the world’s largest association of local governments that have voluntarily committed to achieving the EU’s energy and climate goals. The signatory cities are committed to reducing emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases by at least 40% by 2030 (30% for Belarus and other countries of the Eastern Partnership) by improving energy efficiency and using renewable energy sources, as well as becoming more resilient to the effects of climate change.
